Thks for the hopefully true answer for beening cruetly free….I luv your products,I was about to throw it all away not knowing if you were cruetly free.It would been nice to see the Leaping Bunny on your product.It would give me a peace of mind…….

Regarding Lise Watier’s products, lanolin (which is an animal by-product) is listed in their lipstick and in the conceler I think.

I was glad to do it. I want to know these things. Because I live in Small Town, Canada, I don’t have access to Stila and so on.
Watier is often too colorful and shiny for me, but they do make some products that appeal. I’ll feel more open to buying knowing they’re cruelty-free.

Glad you found the review interesting. I’m really liking this gloss. Lately I’ve been applying it over L’Oreal Infallible Gloss in Coral Sands, which is very sheer. That way, I get the color of the Watier product and the exceptional staying power of the Infallible.

It was hard to find Watier’s animal test policies on the internet so I emailed them and got this response :

I know you said that you didnt like lip brush application but, I found an awesome lip set by It Cosmetics.com.They are a new comapny my friend turned me onto.The set comes with 9 lipcolors that have antioxidants and collagen, and are all enhanced with blue micro crystals so your teeth appear whiter, they also make a really good inexpensive lipplumper that has the same crystals.Theyre pretty cool you should check them out.

I am sorry to hear that Neutrogena tests on animals. I use a lot of their products and find they are great for the price. I love the Healthy Glow in the pump bottle–a tinted moisturizer with a SPF and their eye makeup remover in the blue bottle.

I have reviewed products for the Miami Herald and enjoyed especially the very expensive products that I hesitate to buy and not like. I, also, follow Dr. Leslie Baumann and her book “Skin Type Solutions” now out in paperback plus she has an internet forum. Just so you know I am a young 70 yo with red hair, also but mine is helped along these days!

I hear you, Rosalie, about the staying power (or lack of) with lip gloss.

I haven’t tried that Neutrogena product (hard to find the cosmetics in Canada), but I’ve been avoiding their stuff because of their animal-testing policies.

SPF in a gloss is a great thing and I’ve tried a few. There’s no specific brand that comes to mind that’s especially good on that criteria alone but it is a definite plus when I can find it in an otherwise good product.

For nice colors, good price, and very decent wearability, my 2 favorites are L’Oreal Color Juice and Clinique Long Last Glosswear. The Clinique product does have SPF as well. It’s thick and creamy, but not gunky like MAC Lipglass. I like it a lot.

I have about given up on lipgloss as to staying power. Since you have had many subjects recently on lip products and referring to the gloss end. I have found the Neutrogena moisture shine lip soother to have several good ideas. Its in a small tube that you just squeeze and apply. Great for portability. It, also has a SPF which I have been reading that the glosses by themselves are more prone to skin cancer problems. Have you tried them?
