The two palettes look quite different from each other, in my opinion. The Autumns look peach-orange-brown, and the Winters look pink-berry.

Would you be kind enough to identify the Autumn colors in the same way you did the Winter ones? Thanks!

Taji,

Very interesting that you find the adjustment small. When I looked at the 2 sets of colours side-by-side, I was surprised at how different they looked. The old colours just seem beige-orange. Maybe our monitors are different. Or maybe I've just talked about it so much that people expected a bigger change. But you're quite right, the season and colours just shifted a little closer to Dark Winter from Dark Autumn.

KAT,

The colours are pretty much outlined in the Makeup Model : Deep Winter article, minus some lip products. The colours are Clinique Pink Goddess, Apple Brandy, Perfect Plum, Black Honey, NARS Dolce Vita, and MAC Slimshine Scant for lips. I like creamy formulations and slightly sheer formulas, especially with thin lips and deeper colours. The blushes are MAC Breath of Plum and Clinique Berry Delight. The eyeliners are Clinique Black Brown and MAC Grey Industry. The eyeshadows are Clinique's Totally Neutral set, Paula's Choice Shell and Charcoal Brown, and Merle Norman Mink.

Anne wrote today asking for the colours as well. I'm know I'm tiresome in my perfectionism about this stuff, but do get PCA'd before you spend money on anything else. I'm very much on the border between Dark Winter and Dark Autumn, like 40:60. It's unlikely you'll be that near the midline between any two seasons.

Try these colours. They might be good, or even better than what you wear now. But are they the absolute BEST? It is amazing how so-so the runner-up season's colours look, after you've seen what your best season looks like. They just trail a long sorry way behind. For the makeup to do that thing of disappearing into your face, the shades have to be pretty exact. Otherwise, it still just sits on top.

Good luck. I LOVE makeup shopping with a purpose.

I enjoy your blogs and look forward to them each day. I'd like to know what brands/colors you used for your Winter colors on today's blog. They look like they'd be perfect for me also, and I'd like to know what to look for in stores to see whether they would work for me. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
