HEY, CHRISTINE, HOW’S THE MAKEOVER GOING?

February 21, 2008

Now that you ask, it’s coming along pretty well. There are a lot of details but the learning has been worth every minute. It’s almost ready.

Here is a look at the current picture. This is what the inside pages, where the articles are posted, will look like :

The new look of Empowered Attraction
The new look of Empowered Attraction

Why, yes, since you mention it, the title does now appear in the header section! Thank you for noticing.

What can I possibly be working on ?

You see that little tiny orange button with the rainbow lines on it in the lighter green navigation bar (”navbar”) under the picture (”header”)?  That might need to be a little bigger to be more easily noticed. It should have the words “Subscribe RSS” beside it as well. But the size of that navbar is defined to be of a certain length and width; it is divided into a right and left container and the space of the left container is needed for those black tabs. So where do I put the orange button?? I’m thinking in the lower navbar (”subnavbar”), right under the orange button.  Well, OK, what color should the letters be? Black will be hard to see. Orange clashes. Yellow? Maybe. You may see it in a different color every day for a week.

Podcasting, oh yeah!!

What else? I’m working on installing the software to allow me to do “podcasting”. Basically, that means making the blog talk. Along with a written article, there can be an audio portion in the form of an mp3 file that you can listen to on your computer or download to an mp3 player. The first topic to learn about is the most important subject of Internet Shopping - how it works, how money moves across the internet, is it safe, and what do you need to watch for. This, I am excited about.

Facebook

There will be a nifty little box on the front page linking you directly to my Facebook profile. Have you been there lately? It is COOL! I discovered all the Applications today and did my Celebrity LookAlike.  Usually I get told I look like Sally Field. This was a new  one on me : Krista Allen.

My look-alike, Krista Allen.

For those of you who know me, you will be confused as to whether this is a photo of myself or Krista. Let me assure you that it’s Krista. If I colored my hair black, you couldn’t tell us apart.

Talk to me

I’ll miss my old blog. Its colors are so comfortable. It is a very safe blog; it can’t challenge me very much any more. That must be why I’m moving away from it.

My aim is to provide the most useful experience possible when you visit these pages. I want this blog to be easy to navigate, so if the smallest item confuses you or seems illogical,  please tell me. If you see a useful gadget on another blog/site, please tell me about that as well. I love fun software.

I am not so married to anything that it cannot be changed, change being the one of the two best words that exist ( anyone know the other?). I can think of few businesses, especially small businesses where I could not make suggestions that would (IMHO) improve their presentation. I hope this site is of value to you, but what I’d most like to hear with brutal honesty are the ways it could be even better. Don’t worry about hurting my feelings. It can’t be done.
