Hi Christine, love this piece, always so much thought and insight. I'm not good as doing exercise as a seperate activity, but as I can't drive due eye problems in past, I walk everywhere. Sometimes several miles to get a loaf of bread and everyday stuff, which I love. It gets me out as I work from home and it clears my mind too. I feel funny if I don't use my legs, which I guess they were built for!
Going back to an earlier quote of yours re Deep Autumns -

"All the Autumns have great variability in their presentation, the True and Dark especially. There is the exotic group and there is the masculine/military/clean lines group, and I do not see both in the same person. Some Autumns are very layered and highly accessorized with great success, but many have too much of the practical business-like approach to want so much excess and bother".

These were verty wise words too! You probably won't remember, but I was having some difficulty assimalating the style counsellor idea that I should move more to the Creative type and less of the Natural. I am becoming more towards the exotic you talked about, especially after reading your piece about Deep Autumn jewellery, and going out and buying some paisley deep copper earrings with olive green stones. I feel more at home in these than silver ones now and am told they look better on me too! I can see myself in your Dad's colouring, as you describe it, it is just me too. Isn't life wonderful that you can learn so much at any age and still keep learning? Thanks so much for all your advise and writing which is wonderfully thought provoking to us all.

Christine, I love your Creator picture. It's gorgeous and very similar to my own inner vision. I heard a great story from creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson that I'd like to share. There was a little girl who struggled with all of her subjects in school until one day her teacher noticed that she was utterly engrossed in art class. The teacher asked her what she was drawing. The child answered that it was a picture of God. The teacher said, "But nobody knows what God looks like." The child answered, "Well, they will in a minute!" I believe we all start out with an innate ability to create that we're wide open to as children; however, socialization/standard education can so easily beat it out of us.

SBunny,

I can see it perfectly! The colour is stunningly beautiful. It's a perfect golden strawberry red.

I have been looking for makeup in clear colours lately for a Bright Spring, and it is very uncommon. Even more uncommon to find truly pure pigments in clothing. One thing I did notice though, is that because it is rare, if your eye knows how to pick out a clear colour, the right choice will jump right out at you, in the sea of muted and darkened colour out there. Good job picking that out. Do you know what lipstick you're wearing?

Hi, Jo,

I agree, I can sit and watch and listen to it as entertainment. Calming, grounding, flowing, your irritations have no choice but to run downhill away from you. You breathe deeper and calmer just listening to her. Where the body goes, the mind must follow. I often put in the DVD and just let it play in the background while I work.

Hi,

I have several of Shiva Rea's yoga dvds, although the only one I can claim to use regularly is the beginners one. They are so beautiful, visually, aurally and... internally. I can happily sit down and watch them for entertainment. The Heart video (I forget its proper title) is amazing.

What is also amazing is that this woman, in her 40s, had a baby (making a dvd on yoga for pregnancy during the process), and is now back making more dvds - visual proof that yoga has the most amazing effects on the body. How many mothers with small children have the strength, flexibility, discipline and stamina to do these postures? And time. Time is a huge factor. How many mothers of small children have any time to do anything but look after their kids? Absolutely inspiring.

Hi Christine,

um, so this comment is not really related to this post...we talked a while back in that "Clear Winter" post but I didn't know if you get comments automatically or if you have to check your older posts manually (and if you do so).

Anyway, err, this is probably lame, but I'm so excited to report that, as a warm spring, I managed to find an evening gown in the right red! I've wanted a red gown for ages but I have barely any red in my wardrobe anyway because coral or poppy red are so hard to find...usually it's always something with blue in the shops or something very dark that often comes in heavy fabrics.

But! Now I've found a satin gown in poppy - I'm beside myself and wanted to show you:

I hope it comes across on your monitor...many monitors show things in a blue-ish way too, LOL. But it's perfect in reality - I'm really happy! :-D
