I love to shop. I had to be 40 before I could freely admit that I love shopping and I love makeup, without wondering if I seem shallow. Now, I neither wonder nor worry. I’m even thinking of making shopping a blog category on its own.

In my subconscious, this blog’s reason for being might be to allow my time at Sephora to be called market research. No mall is too far away. Planning travel destinations around shopping is very reasonable, to my way of thinking.

The utltimate shopping buddy:

1. Will be excited for days before the shopping day and have several lists prepared in different colored inks.

2. Will not get testy if you get lost on the way to the mall. This just gives extra time to work on the lists.

3. Will not whine if you’re parked ¼ mile from the mall entrance and it’s pouring rain.

4. Will come prepared with water and a pull-suitcase for storage so arms don’t get tired.

5. Will be brutally honest and I mean brutal – blush too orange, you don’t have the body for skirts, style too young for you, color doesn’t match your hair. Children are especially handy at this. If you’re going to tell me everything looks great and I should buy it, I’ll leave you at home.

6. Has impressive physical stamina. Is prepared to walk, stand, pull, climb, and carry.

7. Can eat and walk at the same time. Better yet, forgets to eat or willingly foregoes it if there are stores yet to be seen; can eat in the car on the way home and live on coffee till then.

8. Takes pride in recommending things you will really wear and treats it as a responsibility.

9. Will cheerfully go back to the same store several times.

10. Has good taste, or at least a sense of your taste.

11. Doesn’t care if you spend money or not.

12. Will not complain of headache if you try on 6 perfumes and make her smell them all.

13. Will be patient while you try on 20 things in a store he/she can find nothing in.

14. Will happily discuss the pros and cons of every jacket you looked at to help you choose which to buy.

15. Will sit happily while you have makeup applied. Will keep a straight face.

16. Is not impulsive, or doesn’t get irritated if you refuse to be.

17. Will have a superb day even buying nothing.

18. Will not be deterred by a busy mall. Dec 23 is the best day of the year.

Wow, I can’t believe your list of a good shopping partner!!!!
Yesterday, I said to Brad, I feel the need to call Christine for Christmas shopping. I really miss our yearly shopping spree at Toys our us and of course the wonderful land of the mall. I always had fun and some good laughs, yet we knew what kind of women we where when our lists dwindeled down from 23 gifts to 3 or so.
How are you doing with the shopping for young teens? AGGHHH
